yup. all I'm going to say is that it is the time of year when the fact that I need a cool backpack has become more evident than usual. So this morning I had my shreddies, bummed around, did some research and made this set, went to the library, and then went straight to Exhibit on Main St, bought the Herschel "Pop Quiz" (somewhat like the black one here) and went straight back home. Sometimes I shop like a guy.

decisions part deux
I changed my mind. The Fluevog Alli Boot is what I'm getting for fall.
Tried them on today and they are killer.

Talon
Bought this talon necklace from local designer Carolyn MacKinnon this past weekend at the Eugene Choo Market... and I'm kind of sheepish when I admit I've been wearing low-cut tops ever since just so I can show it off.
Check out her etsy shop. She uses a lot of raw stones as well, which I think is pretty cool.

sending down roots
My house is a cheery new shade of yellow. And the lease is renewed, which means another year in Kits for me.
And it means I can go even crazier on the garden.

Nothing is better than fresh garden peas.

Beets. A highly underrated veggie, in my opinion.

It's finally summer in Vancouver, in case that wasn't obvious.

tough one
In the search for the perfect short boot, I've narrowed it down to two.
This fall, barring a financial crisis, I'm pretty sure I'll be investing in one of them: the Frye Motorcyle boot or the Fluevog Radio BBC.
They are both about the same price and both are good quality. The Motocycle boot is a little more iconic, but then also maybe on its way out. The Fluevog BBC is a classic, plain and simple. And it has laces.
I've got lots of time to decide, but I thought I'd take a poll and see what other people feel. What does everyone think? Frye or Fluevog?
